Mr. Roy L. Phillips

Mr. Roy L. Phillips,  2420 Randolph St., went into eternal sleep in Sentara Obici Hospital on Jan. 29, 2008. He was predeceased by his parents, Clayton and Anna Darden Phillips, and his brothers Hosie, Cleon, Russell, and Russell Phillips. He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. His survivors includes, one brother, James E. Phillips, of  Houston, Texas, and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 1 p.m. at the Galilee Baptist Church, Branchville, Va., with the Rev. Willie Diggs officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday at Harris Funeral Home. The viewing of Mr. Phillips will also be from 11:30 a.m. until funeral time on Friday. The family will assemble at the funeral home on Friday at 9 a.m. for the funeral processional.
